Richard J. Hine

Rich is a serial entrepreneur and real estate developer with nearly thirty year’s experience in residential and commercial construction, real estate development, higher education, athletic business and maritime security and defense. Rich has extensive business and project management experience in a variety of fields and has supervised start up business ventures and has extensive experience in capital formation, finance and budgeting.

Hine’s education includes a B.S. in Political Science from the US Naval Academy, a Masters Degree in Theology from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception and a Masters Degree in History from Yale University. Rich has served as School Board Trustee and President for nine years supervising a district budget of $50M, a staff of nearly 400 employees and 3,500 students. Rich also served as an adjunct professor of International Relations at Stony Brook University in New York and Athletic Director at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School in Virginia Beach, VA.

Hine served aboard the nuclear submarine USS Pittsburgh (SSN720) after graduating from the US Naval Academy in 1982. Rich also served aboard USS City of Corpus Christi (SSN705) and qualified submarines and nuclear engineer before leaving the Navy in 1987.

Rich has lived and owned a home in Elkton, VA since 2005 with his wife Mary and their seven children – five of whom serve in the United States military (Army, Navy and Coast Guard).
